Alloy 20 is an austenitic alloy that has nickel, chromium and iron in its composition. The Alloy 20 plate material shows excellent resistance to corrosion in different chemical environments that might have sulfuric acids and other aggressive media. The alloy 20 plate material can be stabilized by niobium and thus, it can resist intergranular corrosion. It can also withstand chloride ion related stress corrosion cracking along with pitting and crevice corrosion. The Alloy 20 sheets can be either hot or cold worked. They also have good weldability and can be welded using the standard techniques.
The Alloy 20 steel cold rolled plate is very strong and can retain its mechanical properties in elevated temperature conditions. They have min tensile and yield strengths of 551 Mpa and 241 Mpa respectively.Due to all these properties, the plates are widely used in industries like oil & gas, marine, process piping, etc. They are quite durable, have a long service life and are easy to clean & maintain.

The Carpenter 20 sheet is non-magnetic in the annealed condition.Annealing involves heating the material to a specific temperature and slowly cooling it.In this state, they acquire a face-centered cubic crystal structure, which makes alloy 20 non-magnetic.
The Nickel alloy 20 coil material is resistant to corrosion in a wide range of environments. But it can still rust under unpleasant circumstances, so that must be considered.
